Press release -

Covid changes to Cafe Art

Cafe Art's annual homeless projects have been hit by Covid-19 like everyone else. However the crowdfunder for the MyLondon calendar has been a huge success so far. With 17 days to go it's earning money for the photographers and calendar vendors, all who have been or who still are homeless.

The crowdfunder is here: https://cafeart.org.uk/2021-calendar-campaign

Cafe Art's MyLondon Photo Project was established in 2013. Every year 100 Fujifilm Quicksnap cameras are given to people affected by homelessness. Cafe Art have helped projects start in the following cities: Budapest, New Orleans, Sao Paulo, Sydney and Toronto.

This year they are setting up a new charity called MyWorld Photo Projects to help more cities set up the project.

For more information about the current crowdfunder or MyWorld contact Paul Ryan tel. 07517 141948 or email paul@cafeart.org.uk

Cafe Art (UK) Community Interest Company is connects people affected by homelessness with the wider community through art. We hang artwork created in art groups run by homelessness sector organisations and hang it in independent cafes in London. We also run photography training with volunteers from the Royal Photographic Society and the annual MyLondon contest with disposable Fujifilm cameras.

Cafe Art is in the process of setting up a charity called MyWorld Photo Projects. The goal of the new charity will be to support new photographic projects, involving training in photography and entrepreneurial enterprises with participants affected by homelessness.
