Rough sleepers working on World Homeless Day 10 Oct

Rough sleepers are earning money by selling the 2020 MyLondon calendar in Spitalfields E1 market and St James's Market Piccadilly on World Homeless Day - this Thursday 10 October.

Richard Fletcher will be selling in Spitalfields E1 Market. Richard often sleeps around King's Cross Station. He entered the MyLondon contest in May when he picked up one of 100 disposable cameras handed out in St Paul's Cathedral. Participants - all who have experienced homelessness - were given seven days to photograph "My London".

"The goal of this project is to give people photography skills and help them connect with the wider community," says director Paul Ryan. "They are given training by The Royal Photographic Society, then later they gain work experience and earn money by selling calendars with their photos in them."

Also selling the MyLondon calendar on Thursday is David Fussell, who sleeps rough on Tottenham Court Road. David is selling at St James's Market, Piccadilly.
