Capita Children’s Services Finalist in EducationInvestor Awards 2010

Capita Children’s Services (www.capita-cs.co.uk) has been shortlisted for an EducationInvestor Award 2010 in the Supplier to the Education Sector category.

The accolade is for Capita’s hard work in 2009 and 2010 in understanding the needs of schools and then addressing them with high quality products and services appropriate to their everyday teaching and learning needs.

Capita Children’s Services is the company behind SIMS, the management information system used by 21,000 primary, secondary and special schools. The company is responsible on a daily basis for the pupil records of nearly 6 million children.

Phil Neal, managing director of SIMS, Capita Children’s Services, said: “Raising pupil achievement is always a priority for schools and we have been working incredibly hard to ensure the pupil tracking tools in our SIMS system can help teachers spot when pupils are falling behind, and help motivate pupils to raise performance by setting achievable goals.  It is this focus that has helped us be selected as a finalist in these awards, along with our work in helping schools address parental engagement issues and changes to the 14-19 curriculum.”

The EducationInvestor Awards have been created to celebrate innovation and excellence in the UK's education industry. Winners will be announced on 16th November 2010, at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
