Check-A-Contract Helps Businesses Comply with New UK Cancellation Laws

LONDON, UK – JULY 25, 2014 – Check-A-Contract, the leading online provider of legal contract review services, announced today extended support for compliance with new business laws in the UK that strengthen a customer’s right to cancel orders or purchases on the Internet or at home. Any website or business that sells virtually anything in the UK now has to comply with these new laws. The law states an increase in the cancellation allowance from 7 days to 14 days – giving the customer a right to change his or her mind, return the goods or service and expect a refund.

Check-A-Contract gives businesses a cost effective and simple way to ensure that any agreement they are contemplating, is compliant with the law.

“We are in the contract review business,” said Ralph Ehlers; “The part that everyone fears and dreads – we do that all day long so you won’t have to.  We check contracts and agreements. The new rules for order cancellation can be quite costly for businesses if they aren’t careful about their contracts.  We make sure that our clients are on the right side of the law.”

Check-A-Contract reviews its clients’ contracts to make sure there are no vaguely worded provisions, exclusions or limitations that might have an impact on profitability or legal liability.  The service returns a revision of the client’s contract or agreement that is corrected.  Check-A-Contract looks at sales agreements, leases, contracts and agreements, terms & conditions (t&c), rental agreements, employment contracts, leasing contracts, hire purchase agreements, real estate paperwork, and so forth.  The company checks the client’s obligations and the wording of the contract and other agreements. The review includes an assessment of the client’s business goals and how well the contract meets them.
