Lintbells shows how Vet Nurses can help 1 in 10, at BVNA Congress

September 2017

Lintbells is on stand D18 at BVNA Congress this year and the company has lots on offer to make life in practice that much easier. The company is also highlighting how vet nurses can help pets and people in one in ten households in their area. There will be a fun competition with an £250 Secret Escapes holiday voucher to win and news of a fantastic campaign to run in practice through to the end of the year.

Gemma Cunningham, YuCALM Product Executive says the opinions of veterinary nurses are respected in their local area and lots can be done to help make the lives of pets better “There’s an estimated 45% of dogs that show firework fear* and 24% of households own dogs** – that means around 1 in 10 households around any practice will be affected by this distressing problem. This suggests that the numbers that actually approach their practice for help are really just the tip of a very large iceberg.”

The company has produced a range of support materials that will help make clients aware of how common fears and phobias are in dogs and the importance of behaviour support around the time of trigger events. Gemma says that vet nurses will be able to see what’s available for them to use in their practice and to help spread the word in their communities, “While we have all the support material needed to back up a recommendation, what really motivates pet owners to act is that first conversation with a vet or vet nurse. Knowing that they don’t have to accept that their pet will show fearful behaviour throughout firework season and that help is at hand makes all the difference. Hopefully our YuCALM waiting room and online materials will help RVNs have those conversations and encourage clients to talk about their concerns.”

BVNA delegates will also be some of the first to know about the company’s autumn/ winter campaign and can even sign up to take part.

About Lintbells

For Lintbells, every product starts with a pet in need. Based in Weston in Hertfordshire, Lintbells researches, formulates and manufacturers high quality, innovative natural supplements that aim to improve the lives of dogs, cats and horses. It’s a commitment the company takes very seriously and has resulted in products that support skin and coat condition, digestive health and joint care.

Established in 2006 by John Howie and John Davies, Lintbells has a strong focus on scientific validation of its products, working with experts such as the Royal Veterinary College and New Zealand’s Marlborough Research Centre. But it doesn’t stop with the science because helping pets is at the core of the business.

At all levels of the Lintbells’ organisation there’s a realisation that collectively, everyone has a responsibility to help keep pets healthy and happy by providing effective, high quality, pet supplements at affordable prices.

And it seems those efforts are increasingly appreciated by pets and their people. By the end of 2016, 200 million YuMOVE tablets had been sold to pet owners in more than 15 countries.
