New pet shop makes sure Birstall pets don’t miss out this Christmas
Last Christmas it was estimated that pet owners spent £750 million on buying their beloved pet a present.* But a tough economic environment means that not everyone can justify the expense. A new pet shop has just opened in Birstall that aims to change all that. Pet Central will offer pet products of every kind at low, low prices, all year round.
Shop manager David Stanley says pets are members of the family and their owners love to treat them to something special at this time of the year, “We even brought forward our opening so pet owners could buy a little something for their pet this Christmas. The furry members of the family could have a toy, treat or even a new bed to unwrap on Christmas Day, all without breaking the bank.”
He says the shop will occupy a special place in the market, “While discounting shops offer low cost products, they often don’t stock a huge range of pet products or keep the more specialist types of products that pet owners want and need. We wanted to offer some of the great choice and quality that you would enjoy at an independent shop, at the bargain basement prices that the discounters offer. In and around Birstall we have people on pensions and families that are sometimes financially stretched or whose circumstances have changed, making it less feasible to afford to keep their pet. We’ll be helping to ensure that they can still care for their pet properly and maybe even buy them a special but affordable treat now and then without busting their budget. What we offer could mean that a much-loved pet is kept with their family without anyone else having to go without essentials. As the support and love pets provide can literally be a lifeline for some people, we think that’s really important, at any time of year.”
Find great bargains at Pet Central, Gelderd road, Birstall, WF17 9QD, next to the Pet Brands building. Open Monday to Saturday 9 am to 5 pm. There’s free car parking outside the shop so pet owners can fill their boots!
