So, why not take a trip down memory lane with the launch of the ultimate in yummy treat: The Costa Giant Real Belgian Chocolate Teacake!

Whilst the nation is currently swooning over nostalgic fashion and music trends, it’s often said that as one of the strongest senses, taste, can trigger a happy memory. Encased in a sumptuous layer of real Belgian chocolate, the delicious chocolate biscuit base is topped with fluffy marshmallow and real raspberry jam. It’s the treat that is set to transport you back to your school days!

Billed as an addition to Costa’s ‘big league’ of biscuits, the Giant Real Belgian Chocolate Teacake will sit alongside Costa’s iconic Giant Custard Cream and Giant Chocolate Bourbon.

Jane Treasure, Head of Food Development at Costa, said: “We’re delighted to introduce our take on the iconic teacake.  We know that as one of the key senses, taste can be incredibly powerful; just a bite of a teacake takes us back to our care-free school days as many of us were given a tea cake by mum or dad to take to school for our afternoon break.”

The giant teacake is now on sale through Costa stores nationwide and will retail at £1.80 per real Belgian Chocolate teacake, to enjoy in-store. To takeaway, the teacake will retail at £1.50. It can be enjoyed with a delicious latte or hot chocolate.
