Press release -
Who really wants flowers in a cardboard box this Mother’s Day?
Manchester, United Kingdom (27 February 2013) - Leading
floral gift specialist Direct2Florist is urging flower buyers to insist that
the flowers they send for Mother’s Day are delivered by hand – and not in
cardboard boxes.
Despite the
majority of the UK’s major retailers delivering flowers in boxes through a
courier service, Direct2Florist continues to deliver every floral gift
by hand, through a network of thousands of local florists in the UK and
overseas.
Simon
Stirling, Direct2florist’s Managing Director, says: “When you send flowers for
Mother’s Day, or any other occasion for that matter, do you really want your
flowers to be sent overnight by a courier, in a cardboard box, or would you
prefer it if they were delivered by hand, by a specialist flower delivery
driver?”
As well as
looking better and ensuring the moment of delivery is as special as can be,
there are a number of additional benefits to having flowers delivered by a
florist. The risk of damage in transit is minimised, florists will usually
prepare the flowers on the day of delivery rather than one or two days before
which ensures freshness, and florists can design and make by hand a bouquet
that exactly fits a specific customer requirement – whether that’s a favourite
flower or particular colour scheme.
“I firmly
believe that, because flowers are such a great way to share personal sentiments
and emotions, the only way to deliver flowers is by hand,” adds Stirling.
“That’s why, this Mother’s Day, we’ll be delivering every order by hand and
will never entertain the idea of sending flowers out in unsightly cardboard
boxes.”
When making a purchase through www.direct2florist.co.uk, consumers
enter the destination where the flowers will be delivered, with the website
revealing all the florists that deliver to that area. The consumer can them
browse through the flowers on offer, look at photos and read the reviews,
before placing the order.
What’s more, 100 per cent of the flower order value goes
to the florist, with no large commission taken off, ensuring great
value-for-money and a happy loved one on Valentine’s Day.
Mothering
Sunday this year takes place in the UK and Ireland on Sunday 10th
March. To find out more about Direct2Florist and the range of flowers they
