The Priscillas have gained an awesome live reputation. Their shows leave audiences with huge grins, humming their catchier-than-flu tunes. They have honed their shows into proper events. They're not just the best all-girl band in the UK,"They're The Cramps,The Shangri-Las, and the New York Dolls all rolled into one" says Kerrang! and are "Near perfect power-pop, according to the NME. Looking like they’ve just stepped out of a Russ Meyer movie, these four girls with big boots, (whom VOGUE magazine says "exude B-movie glamour") big hair and very small skirts rip through a handful of punk charged sixties go go groovers, delivering a mix of punk and garage rock with pop hooks and attitude a plenty.

They are fun with a capital ‘F’. These girls Jenny Drag (lead vocals), Valkyrie (guitar and backing vocal), Heidi Heelz (bass and backing vocals) and Lisa Lux (drums and backing vocals), graduated with honours from the Rock’n’Roll High School (old boys including The Ramones, of course) and then spent a salubrious term at the Academy of Tragic Melodies.

On Friday, May 26th Acid Box Promotions and riotous feminist cult Bitchcraft, will be hosting a themed tribute night for Kim Shattuck from The Muffs with two perfect West Coast bands to be the performing maidens of honour: Death Valley Girls and The Darts (US) at Sticky Mike's Frog in Brighton. This is sure to be a well oversubscribed event so get in there early.

Burger Records and Los Angeles ouija board rockers Death Valley Girls, who refer to their sound as “dystopian punk,” “occult glam,” and “doom boogie.” Formed in 2013, the quartet swims in the sounds of Black Sabbath, The Stooges, Bikini Kill, and T. Rex into bruising, dry desert punk-rock that, at times, isn’t afraid to jump into bed with a psychedelic chord or two.

Death Valley Girls are classic conduits for the true-blue rock ’n’ roll and have taken the western world by storm with super-paranormal powers. That’s not to imply that frontwoman Bonnie Bloomgarden has a daily life of a nonstop heavy metal marathon of occult rituals and devil worship and biting the heads off bats - but when on tour, the band do kill time by visiting haunted places, cemeteries, and creepy historical sites..

When describing The Darts, they themselves refer that they are an all girl beat combo and they rock and roll! Their gender matters not, because their sound is a killer collection of garage fuzz with more than a pinch of punk rock attitude sprinkled with some superb pop sensibilities.

Leaning heavily on a Stooges vibe with added keyboard or organ however you want to window dress it this a fuzzed out big bass drummed Farfisa organed lo-fi drop of goodness for the soul. Sure, there is a large part 60s happening here but it's rough edges add charm to their irresistible sounds.

The Darts are total “bad ass” . Because this ain’t elevator music. This band is more heavy and aggressive sounding than any of the ladies’ previous bands – which include ’60s garage revalists The Love Me Nots, Motobunny, Zero Zero (Nicole Laurenne Vocals and Farfisa), The Two Tens, The Dollyrots, Thee Outta Sites (drumming singer Rikki Styxx), The Love Me Nots, Casual Encounters, The Madcaps (bassist/singer Christina Nunez), Brainspoon (guitarist/singer Michelle Balderrama).
