DJI Ronin Series Wins 2024 Emmy® Award for Engineering, Science & Technology

The Technology Simplifies Capturing High-Quality Fluid Footage For Creative Professionals Worldwide

DJI, the global leader in civilian drones and innovative camera technology, today announced that the DJI Ronin series has been awarded a prestigious “Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy® Award” from the Television Academy. A game-changer for the film and television industry since launching ten years ago, the DJI Ronin is a line of professional camera stabilization systems that enable filmmakers and videographers to capture seamlessly smooth and steady footage that brings difficult to shoot scenes to life.

"Receiving this Emmy Award is an extraordinary honor considering this year marks the 10th anniversary of the DJI Ronin series launch. For the past decade, we have been at the forefront of the industry, delivering smooth, reliable, and high-quality footage for filmmakers around the world,” said Paul Pan, Senior Product Line Manager at DJI. "On behalf of the entire team, we are deeply grateful the Television Academy has chosen to recognize the contribution DJI’s technology has made to the industry."

Drawing from the company’s innovative gimbal technology used in their popular camera drones, DJI Ronin has changed the look of modern television and filmmaking by allowing videographers and content creators to easily capture previously impossible shots. DJI Ronin cameras, gimbals and stabilizers technology have been used on the sets of Emmy Award-winning television productions and Academy Award-winning films including: Ted Lasso, The Bear, Fargo, Squid Game, The Handmaid's Tale, Watchmen, Survivor, The Banshees of Inisherin, Nomadland, The Whale and many more.

The modular design of the DJI Ronin allows easy setup that can be adapted for a variety of shooting scenarios and camera setups while offering a variety of operation modes such as Pan Follow, Lock Mode, and Point of View Mode that are compatible with a range of accessories such as wireless focus systems, monitors, and other filmmaking tools. Traditionally, the Ronin series utilizes a three-axis gimbal system to stabilize pan, tilt and roll, keeping the camera level and steady, often eliminating the need to lay dolly track or set up a Technocrane. More recently, The DJI Ronin 4D adds a Z-Axis to the traditional 3-axis gimbal, effectively decreasing vertical camera shake while flawlessly integrating cinematic imaging capabilities with an advanced 4-axis stabilization, versatile modular design, precision LiDAR focusing, and seamless wireless transmission into a single, cohesive system.

DJI will be honored at the 76th Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Awards that will take place on Wednesday, October 23, at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California.
