Oil find in Danish North Sea

DONG Energy has, as the operator of license 4/98 in the Danish part of the North Sea, made an interesting find of oil in the Solsort prospect

In connection to appraisal drilling activities three side tracks where drilled in order to define the limits of the find – all with positive result. An extensive data collection programme has been carried out, and the evaluation of the collected data has begun.

Solsort was drilled with the rig Mærsk Resolute to a depth of 3041 m. The drilling was carried out without unintentional incidents, and the well is now being permanently plugged.

The partners in the license besides DONG Energy (35%) are Bayerngas (30%), Nordsøfonden (20%) and VNG (15%).

The appraisal drilling was carried out in corporation with license 3/09, being owned by the same group of companies.
