ellenor launches first community clinic and advice drop-in

ellenor was at the opening of the new Swanley Link centre, Swanley, this week, to raise awareness of it’s range of services, and to launch a brand new clinic and monthly advice drop-in at the newly converted Library and Information Centre.

The sessions, which are for local residents of Swanley and the surrounding area, will provide an opportunity for members of the public to seek advice and support, and to discuss care in the convenience of a town centre location in their own community, without the need to travel to the charity’s centre in Gravesend.

GP’s and local referrers are encouraging people to pop along or to book appointments for a consultation.

At the launch this week, members of the public learnt more about the services ellenor provides in their local area, as Sarah Green, Senior Staff Nurse (pictured above left) explains “Lots of the people we spoke with knew of ellenor but were not aware of the extent of the care we give in their community and the support we offer to patients, families and carers.People are always surprised to learn that 90% of our care happens in the community.”

The first drop-in advice session will be held on Tuesday 1 September from 9-1pm at the Swanley Link, and is open to anyone that wishes to come and discuss any aspect of care, and to learn more about the services ellenor provides for families facing terminal illness.
