Rains fail to dampen spirits at charity golf day
More than 50 golfers braved the elements to raise funds for ellenor, Kent’s only charity offering hospice at home care to children, at the inaugural Larrytech Charity Golf Day.
Website design agency Larrytech, which was recently named Creative Business of the Year in the Royal Tunbridge Wells Business Awards, hosted the charity event at the Nevill Golf Club, Tunbridge Wells, on 16 September.
“It was a fantastic event, with lots of fun on the course and afterwards, which lasted late into the evening. To be able to raise funds for such a great cause while bringing local business people together in a relaxed environment – despite the heavy rain in the early part of the day – was hugely rewarding,” said director Larry Hardcastle. “We are extremely grateful to all the local businesses who supported us – and even the sun managed to put in a late showing.”
Director of fundraising for ellenor, Rachel Holweger, commented: “Larrytech’s support has been fantastic; we have new young patients being referred to us every week, so we are really grateful for their fundraising and exposure.Their coverage on social media really helped put ellenor in the spotlight in West Kent in the build up to the event and on the day itself.”
In addition to the golf, players enjoyed a two-course evening meal, raffle and auction.“It was a really well organised event and lovely to welcome so many new faces to The Nevill Golf Club,” said the chairman, David Blundell.
Larrytech provides website design and search engine optimisation for a growing range of clients across all sectors. It was founded 15 years ago by Larry Hardcastle from his bedroom when he was still a pupil at The Skinners School in Tunbridge Wells. Many of the other members of the Larrytech team are also former Skinners’ pupils.
