RiverStone Management Limited donates £36,000

ellenor has received a generous donation of £36,000 from RiverStone Management Limited, part of the insurance and reinsurance operations of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited.

ellenor’s mission is to lead and coordinate the best personalised care for all ages, sharing its expertise to ensure that all families facing terminal illness get the right support in the best place possible, enabling them to make the most of the time they have.

“We are absolutely delighted to receive such a huge donation and thank RiverStone and its employees for selecting ellenor,” says Katherine Mobey, Corporate Partnerships Manager at ellenor. “This donation will make an enormous difference to the families facing terminal illness who we support; it is a sum that could pay for 1000 hours of respite care.”

Jeff Bearman, from RiverStone’s London office put forward ellenor, as he knew somebody who worked for the charity and was already supporting ellenor through his own office-based fundraising activities of running a Premier League football predictions competition. This is set to raise around £5,000 at the end of the 2016/17 season, with a triple matched donation from RiverStone.

Along with colleagues Tia Demetriou and Lisa Wiffen, Jeff recently visited ellenor Gravesend, the charity’s hospice building, to understand more about ellenor’s work and how this generous donation will be spent.

“The employees at RiverStone’s London office are very pleased we can provide this donation to a charity which supports the local community for those children and families who require care,” says Jeff Bearman.
