The Accumulator Challenge - Turn £50 into vital funds for ellenor

Take on ellenor’s Accumulator Challenge to raise vital funds for local families facing terminal illness.

The four month challenge starts on 1 September and culminates in an Awards Ceremony in February 2020. Last year's Accumulators' Challenge raised over £26,500, an amount we are hoping to exceed this year.

We will kick-start your fundraising with an initial investment of £50 cash and give you four months to turn this into as much as you can in aid of vital hospice care.

Sponsored by Studio44, this is a team building activity your team will love and will be sure to inject some fun into the workplace. You will need to demonstrate team work, apply your enterprise skills as well as challenge your team’s creative thinking through fundraising activities. How you choose to increase your £50 is up to you, as long as you keep it safe and legal!

We have supported ellenor for a number of years and are very aware of the enormous difference they make to terminally ill children and their families so are proud and honoured to be able to sponsor and support the Accumulator Challenge. We love the Accumulator Challenge concept – it’s a great way for businesses to get creative with their teams and come up with interesting and innovative ways of fundraising, so not only do they raise money for an excellent cause, but they can also build team spirit at the same time!” - Doug Rubashow, Business Development Director, Studio44

Since its launch in 2016, the Accumulator Challenge has grown from strength to strength and is proving a popular addition to the hospice’s event calendar. To date, 71 teams have taken part in the challenge and raised over £52,000 for ellenor, a Kent charity providing specialist palliative and end of life care to people of all ages living with a life-limiting or terminal illness and their families across North and West Kent and the London Borough of Bexley.

Fundraising should be all about having fun and the more fun you have, the more funds you will raise for ellenor. Everyone can participate in the challenge – schools, churches, businesses, clubs and pubs and is a great way to make money for a local cause with the added bonus of bringing your community together.

Do your own bake off, pay to bring your dogs into work or ask your slimming club to organise a sponsored weight loss with their members for just one month - these simple ideas can grow big and are a great way to raise money for hospice care” says ellenor Fundraiser Charlotte Ball.

Last year’s winners Broadditch Farm raised an incredible £3,000. Do you have what it takes to beat them in 2019? Awards will be given for the Most Raised Community Engagement and Most Creative Fundraising idea.

As a business serving the local community, we participated in the 2018 ellenor Accumulator Challenge, to recognise the help and support ellenor has given over the years to many of our staff, customers and their families and friends when faced with difficult times.

Our staff wanted to the extra mile for ellenor and gave up their time to host a variety of fundraising activities which we promoted via our social media channels, collection tins in the farm shop, banners at our events, which created a positive response from our customers, not just in terms of donations but stories of how had helped a family member or friend, creating a closer bond between the farm shop and our customers. Our staff took great pridein what they helped to achieve and the money raised to support ellenor” - Lindsay, Events and Marketing Broadditch Farm Shop.
