Australia Women retain the Women's Ashes with ODI win

Australia Women 205-9 beat England Women 178 by 27 runs

Australia Women won the first Women's Ashes ODI by 27 runs to go 8-4 up in the multi-format series and retain the Women's Ashes.

At the half-way stage England looked well set to be in the game after bowling brilliantly to restrict the hosts to 205-9, but Darcie Brown (4-34) and the Australian bowlers took wickets consistently to take the hosts to victory.

The second and third ODIs will be played at Junction Oval in Melbourne.
