England Women U19s travel to Australia for tri-series

England Women Under 19s have named a 16-strong group for a tri-series against Australia and Sri Lanka.

The team fly out today for six games: one 50-over game and two T20s against both the hosts and Sri Lanka.

Head Coach Chris Guest said: “We’ve worked with this group of players across the winter and the next stage of their development is to play competitive games of cricket against other nations.

“It will be nice to see the players put into practice areas that they have worked on through the winter both individually and as a team. It’s equally exciting to spend more time developing further through a really competitive tri-series against two good teams.

“Visiting Australia is always a good step forward in a player’s development, and it tests you out in new conditions. We’re really looking forward to it and it’s a trip that I’m sure will be hugely beneficial to the playing group.”
