Mohammed ruled out of ICC U19s World Cup

Young Lions batter Isaac Mohammed has been ruled out of the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup after sustaining a fractured left thumb.

The Worcestershire opener suffered the injury during a training session following the team’s arrival in Zimbabwe and will be replaced in the 15-player squad by Yorkshire all-rounder Will Bennison.

Bennison made his England U19 Men’s debut against Ireland in September and played four matches during the recent Youth ODI series against West Indies in Grenada.

England open their ICC U19 Men’s World Cup campaign against Pakistan in Harare on Friday 16 January.
