Richard Thompson named as Chair of the England and Wales Cricket Board
The ECB has today welcomed Richard Thompson as the next Chair of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Mr Thompson, 55, will take up the five-year post on September 1, moving from his current role of Chair at Surrey County Cricket Club and will bring deep experience from his career across sport and business.

National Anti-Doping Panel decision – Tom Wood
The National Anti-Doping Panel has imposed a six month suspension on Derbyshire CCC cricketer Tom Wood after a hearing in June 2022.

Cricket Discipline Commission Hearing - Essex CCC
An independent Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) Panel has imposed a £50,000 fine on Essex CCC after the club pleaded guilty to two charges in relation to a racist comment made in 2017 at an Essex CCC Executive Board meeting.

Durham’s Ben Stokes has been appointed captain of the England Men’s Test team by the England & Wales Cricket Board.

ECB appoint five umpires to new Professional Umpires' Team
Five umpires have been added to the newly-established Professional Umpires’ Team who will officiate in men’s and women’s matches across England and Wales.
