Farewell to ‘Esvagt Sigma’

On 28 February 2003, 'Esvagt Sigma' joined the ESVAGT fleet – and on May 12 we say farewell and thank you for more than 23 years of service to the company. Going forward, the vessel will continue her operations for Petro Aphrodite Company, based in Cyprus.

Together with 'Esvagt Kappa', 'Esvagt Sigma' was among the first Group-2 vessels to become an important and defining part of ESVAGT.

The Group-2 vessels played a key role in securing ESVAGT’s position in the Norwegian market and contributed significantly to the company’s development – from a few hundred colleagues to the ESVAGT we know today.

A large number of ESVAGT colleagues have taken their first steps in the safety shoes as part of the crew on board 'Esvagt Sigma', gaining a deep understanding of ESVAGT’s culture along the way. That culture and those values still stands, even as 'Esvagt Sigma' moves on.

'Esvagt Sigma' will forever remain part of ESVAGT’s history on the rescue board, having rescued a crew of four from a disabled pleasure ship in the Norwegian sector in February 2017.

A sincere thank you to the vessel’s former and current crews, and all the best for the future.
