Press release -

’Ambitions by Vessel’ kick-off: Every ESVAGT vessel is a flagship!

Apart from doing our job, what do we want to do with our vessels?

The crew members on board ESVAGT’s 43 vessels will now have the chance to ask themselves and each other this question as part of formulating a set of ’Ambitions by Vessel’.

“’Ambitions by Vessel’ is about the crew putting into words how they see their vessel, the “Esvagt Christina”, the “Esvagt Bergen” or the “Esvagt Echo”, can contribute to our group goal,” says Managing Director, Søren Nørgaard Thomsen.

These ambitions have to relate to a number of headings and sub headings. Some of these headings have been set in advance by the shipping company – for example, focus on safety, vessel maintenance and development of crew skills.

Other headings are the crew’s own ambitions.

“They do not have to be related to KPIs but it is important that the crews agree about the formulation of the ambition and share ownership in achieving it,” says Søren Nørgaard Thomsen.

The ambitions form the basis for a more concrete plan of action that in turn form the basis for captain’s reviews, operational meetings, management visits and dialogue with HSEQ coaches.
