ESVAGT DONATES 30 USED SERVERS TO THE SYDDANSK BUSINESS SCHOOL (SDE College)

"This will help raise the level of the computers for the data technician students at the school."

These are the words of Kim Bennetsen, teacher at the IT & Data education at Syddansk Business School in Vejle (SDE College), Denmark, on the prospect of receiving 30 used servers from ESVAGT:

"This is 'real' equipment that gives our computer science students experience working hands-on with relevant technologies, which is some of the most common equipment on the server market. This experience is of great value educationally," he says.

The servers are taken from ESVAGT's fleet, where they are replaced after 4-5 years of operation as a routine:

"The Servers are all right, but they've reached an age where failures can occur more often. We replace them preventively to make sure our fleet is safe to operate," says Jacob Frandsen, Head of IT at ESVAGT:

"The servers have a value on the second-hand market, but for us it has a much greater value if we can help improve the quality of the teaching. We have several talented IT students from the school, and if our discarded equipment can contribute to even more learning, it makes a lot of sense for us," he says.
