Increased activity in the UK

ESVAGT is getting busy in the UK market, where several vessels have shown customers what they can do.

ESVAGT is a Danish shipping company with international ambition, which is why ESVAGT has intensified its activities in the British market.

”We have had a reasonable amount of activity with a large number of short and medium term contracts for a number of companies in the British market and we have shown what we can do,” says Ib Hansen, Head of Commercial for ESVAGT.

Centrica, Shell, Petrofac, MPX, BG, Talisman, Total, Nexen and RWE have all signed contracts with either the ’Esvagt Capella’, ’Esvagt Sigma’ or ’Esvagt Celina’, all of which have been working in the UK sector lately.

The aim is to show how ESVAGT works and demonstrate that it is a competent company:

”The work in the UK is very similar to the work that we do in the Danish and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea but the culture is rather different. For example, they do not use crew change vessels in the British sector, where they prefer to use relief ships. Our methods, where we refuel, change crew and perform maintenance work while on standby, are not familiar to the British sector. We need to show them that it can be done differently – and at the same time, we need to adapt our operations to suit the British,” says Ib Hansen.
