BARTON WINDOWS HELP RESIDENTS ENJOY VIEWS WITH EUROLOGIK
Barton Windows, a Eurocell fabricator based in BartononHumber, Humberside, recently secured the contract to supply the windows and doors on the prestigious UnitedHealth UK Residential Care Home at Watersedge, in Scunthorpe.
The care home, which is being built by Manor Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd., is one of the largest homes of its kind in the UK and will provide services to the elderly and critically ill across the Humberside and East Yorkshire regions. Barton Windows has been a Eurocell fabricator for over five years. The company fabricates and installs windows and doors into the commercial, residential and local authority sectors and has builtup a reputation as one of the market leaders in its field. The UnitedHealth UK Residential Care Home is the latest major new business win for the fabricator. The partnership with Eurocell has been invaluable for growing our business.”he new residential care home consists of over 150 places, all of which have been finished to an extremely high standard. The layout of the new development consists of ten large bungalows, along with a main three storey nursing block and a number of separate apartments with one and two bedrooms. A spokesperson from Stephen Roberts Associates, the architects on this project explains: “We wanted the residents to be able to make a real connection with the surrounding landscaped gardens and the Eurocell profiles, supplied by Barton Windows, were a crucial part of this because they offered much better sightlines.” Sightlines are becoming ever more important as developers look for ways to differentiate their properties and create more aesthetically pleasing buildings. The Eurocell Eurologik system is preferred by many developers and planners because it is fully bevelled for a slimmer visual profile and cleaner sight lines. The fact that the Eurologik profile could be used on the entrance doors installed on this project allowed the developer to achieve an aesthetically balanced and coordinated look across all the properties. The aesthetic appeal of the building is improved even further by the use of Ashlar effect render on the ground floor, which allows the traditional design to sit perfectly in the surrounding countryside setting.
UnitedHealth UK, which works exclusively with the NHS, will benefit from the thermal efficiency offered by the windows, which use Pilkington Clear Soft Coat glass to achieve the required Uvalues.
