Press release -

Multilingual and looking to mingle

ExtraMile Communications will answer the key questions for companies using the Internet to expand into Europe and beyond. The focus will be on the issues affecting a company's online presence when creating a translatable, localised message and implementing a multi-lingual system. Further discussion will consider the cultural and linguistic implications of the process, such as idioms, colloquialisms and legal questions.

The free exhibition will highlight industry innovation and provide information about local suppliers as well as providing workshops on website usability, optimisation and internationalisation. The expo also provides a great opportunity for key local e-commerce experts from some of Staffordshire’s biggest brands and agencies to network.

"This event provides ExtraMile Communications with a viable platform from which to educate companies who want to simplify their core message, so that it ultimately becomes a translatable voice," explains Nick Evans, technical director of ExtraMile Communications. "We specialise in multilingual email marketing and multilingual website development and in my presentation I will be drawing on years of experience to discuss the structural options and technical challenges that arise when communicating in dozens of languages on a single site."

The event will be held at The Ashley Building, Staffordshire University, Leek Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2DE, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Workshops will be held throughout the day.

Entrance is free but to book a place in the workshops please email miyourbusiness@stoke.gov.uk.
