FDM Group CEO and COO triumphed jointly as ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at Insider’s South East Dealmakers Award

CEO Rod Flavell and COO Sheila Flavell of global IT services provider, FDM Group, were recognised jointly as ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at Insider’s South East Dealmakers Awards 2015. The South East Dealmakers Awards are a celebration of the region's top corporate finance and business professionals, hosted by Insider Media Ltd, the UK’s leading business-to-business media company. This category was judged based on those entrepreneurs that have made a significant contribution to the region.

The award recognises FDM’s exponential growth and considerable success since it was founded by CEO Rod Flavell in 1991. Since then FDM has transitioned from recruitment start-up to a renowned professional services provider with a focus on IT. Today, FDM is a global company with entities in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia, as well as being recognised as Britain’s largest listed IT services provider and leading IT graduate employer. In its twenty-fifth year, FDM continues to bridge the gap between academia and employment through its award-winning Careers Programme and in doing so, has launched the careers of thousands of IT and business consultants globally.

Rod Flavell and Sheila Flavell, CEO and COO were praised for their commitment to staff development, driving gender diversity in the workplace given the shortage of women in the IT industry and facilitating the transition of ex-military personnel into a second career in the commercial world. FDM saw off competition from Chapel Down Winery, ACC Aviation and CR7 for the accolade. This recognition follows hot on the heels of FDM’s recent win at the Information Age Women in IT Awards 2015, where the company was honoured as ‘Editor’s Choice’, for its contribution and efforts to support and promote the number of women in tech.
