Online Five Pound Football Club community to invest in Monmouth Town

The Five Pound Football Club community is perfect for any fan that's ever dreamt of owning a football club, a community that any football fan can join, as long as they're willing to contribute five pounds per season. The online community has spent the last year searching for suitable football club to invest in.


In January the community decided to narrow our search to 581 Welsh football clubs. After contacting every team, preliminary discussions were held with ten clubs: Aberbargoed Buds, Brecon Corries, Cambrian & Clydach, Cwmbran Celtic, Cwmbran Town, Fleur De Lys, Monmouth, Newtown, Penrhyncoch and Treforest.



Negotiations were held with two of these clubs, Cwmbran Celtic and Monmouth Town. The clubs presented their proposals to our community, who have voted in favour of making an investment in Monmouth Town, where the community will have the opportunity to gain 51 per cent of the shares of a newly-formed Community Interest Company.



The community aim to boost the club's existing revenue streams, as well as creating a completely new investment stream - an annual investment fund of at least five thousand pounds. As the community grows they hope to continue to invest in the club's infrastructure to ensure the development of a successful, sustainable club.
