GEHWOL Diabetes-Report 2023-2024

70 per cent of all amputations still occur in people with diabetes. Why? Because diabetes is closely linked to skin lesions which, without preventive measures, can eventually lead to complex wounds and ulcers. The GEHWOL Diabetes Report focuses on this so-called diabetic foot syndrome – the most common complication of diabetes. To this end, in cooperation with Statista, both doctors and patients are surveyed on risk awareness and preventive behaviour. The chart shown here summarises key findings from the doctors’ perspective.
