Training goal for diabetics: the daily check of the feet
The number of diabetics who are not or insufficiently informed is still far too high. About a third do not know that they need to do something for their feet. Yet there is a clear plan. As soon as a patient is diagnosed with diabetes, they should receive training and learn how to control their feet and care for them without injury. In Germany, this affects six to eight million diabetics. This is according to the national care guideline for diabetic foot, which is currently being revised. But the reality is different. Not even half of the diabetics have received such training, as the GEHWOL Diabetes Report shows.
