AMUSING POP TRIBUTE TO RAISE MONEY FOR RAINBOW

Do they know it’s Christmas’ rendition to help families facing the unimaginable

It’s hit the top of the Christmas charts three times before, but the faces have certainly been a lot more familiar.

Now employees from Kingston-based mobile phone firm Genuine Solutions Group Ltd are hoping to perform a ‘Rage Against the Machine’ style attack on the UK charts, and propel their version of the 80’s classic into the Top 40.

With the help of family, friends, social media and… anyone with a sense of humour, the group hope to reach 10,000 downloads in one week for their pop star efforts  – a number which generally guarantees a slot in the UK charts.

Each download of the track, which is released on Monday (Monday 13^th December) and costs £1.49, will raise money for children’s charity Rainbow Trust, which supports families of children battling a life threatening or terminal illness.

Head of Group Marketing at Genuine Solutions, Danny Lack said, “This Christmas, we wanted to put a promotion together that would not only be fun for our customers, but fun for our staff and provide an end of the year fundraising opportunity.

“We hope we can raise a big sum of cash for Rainbow and want to get as much publicity as possible for the charity and its valuable work.  It would be absolutely amazing to track the song’s progress through the UK charts, highlighting and helping Rainbow as it goes - but we need everyone’s help to achieve this.

“It is a small thing that will make a big difference to the families Rainbow supports and we are asking everyone to download this video for fun and fundraising.”

The video is available to download from Monday 13^th and as it stands will be on sale until Saturday 18^th. We would urge everyone to download this video as it raises money for a very worthy cause.
