Service changes from 1 September 2019

From 1 September, there will be some minor changes to a small number of services.


Service 19

  • On a weekday, the journeys at 5.06pm and 5.26pm from Northumberland Park to North Shields will be merged into one journey at 5.16pm.

Service 35

  • Following requests from passengers, an extra journey will be added in the morning peak from Newbottle, Philadelphia and The Herringtons to Sunderland, departing Houghton-le-Spring at 7.55am, arriving Park Lane Interchange at 8.34am.

Fab 56

  • To avoid congestion on Market Street in Newcastle City Centre, buses will now terminate at Market Street East. They will continue to pick up from Market Street outside of the Coop store, and you will now also be able to board the bus at Market Street East.
  • Weekday morning journeys towards Sunderland are slightly retimed to improve reliability.

intu Metrocentre Mini M6

  • The weekday 3.30pm journey from Lanchester will now depart at 3.27pm, additionally running via St Bede's on schooldays.

Service X21

  • There will be a later through journey from Newcastle on Monday to Saturday daytimes, departing from Newcastle at 7.15pm.
  • Sunday journeys will now run the standard Monday-Saturday daytime route via Neville's Cross.
  • A small number of early morning and evening journeys which extend to Woodhouse Estate will now commence from or terminate at Bishop Auckland Bus Station.

ToonLink X30 & X31

  • The weekday journey from Stanley at 5pm to Newcastle will no longer run.
  • There are no other changes to this service.

Service X46 (between Durham and Crook)

  • Unfortunately this service will no longer run after Saturday 31 August.
