Network Rail and train operators are reminding passengers to check each day before they travel throughout the entire festive period as further upgrade work for the billion-pound East Coast Digital Programme and Cambridge South station takes place from Christmas Eve.
Govia Thameslink Railway, which operates Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express trains, is urging passengers to plan ahead and check before they travel over the Christmas and New Year period. The seasonal timetable and planned engineering work by Network Rail will mean widespread changes to services.
Two major projects will take significant steps forward this Christmas; to upgrade signalling at West Hampstead and to strengthen a railway bridge in Kentish Town, while a myriad of maintenance work take place throughout the route.
