We’re getting fresh with The Garden Centre Group

As part of our newfound partnership with The Garden Centre Group, we’ve been helping our green-fingered friends launch ‘Coffee Ground’ – an exciting new offering that will see GreenCup coffee roasted and poured to perfection across their centres…

Coffee Ground will offer shoppers an opportunity to rest their weary feet with a cup of our very own coffee. But true to GreenCup form, they’ll get a lot more than your average brew.

Made lovingly by top-notch Baristas trained by our fair hands, the finest GreenCup beans will be roasted daily onsite – a surefire way to ensure absolute freshness whilst the irresistible aromas waft through the centre! Together with TGCG’s delicious sandwiches, salads and sweet treats, Coffee Ground will be a foodie haven for tired and hungry customers!

Initially, Coffee Ground will be launched in Endsleigh and Hemel Hempstead, but the grand plan is to roll out this tasty offering nationwide. After all, busy shoppers need a coffee break! Unlike Endsleigh, Hemel Hempstead does not have an existing food offering, so it will be interesting to see how this helps drive footfall into the garden centre.

Flanked by TGCG’s Operations Manager, Harry, and Head Development Chef, David, GreenCup’s Barista, Alex, has been in Endsleigh implementing a rigorous yet fun training plan in preparation for next week’s opening. Staff have enjoyed learning all about coffee from crop to cup, and according to Alex, latte art is already appearing…

“This has been an incredibly rewarding and fun project. The enthusiasm from staff to make professional standard coffee is electric, and they’re already exceling at it. It’s great to know GreenCup coffee will be served the way it should be served – thoughtfully and skillfully. I’ve no doubt Coffee Ground will go down extremely well with TGCG customers!”

The 1kg tabletop roaster has been custom-built in the USA by the one and only Diedrich. By working closely with Diedrich, we’ve created a roaster that’s perfect for our needs.

Coffee Grounds is an extension of GreenCup’s ongoing projects with The Garden Centre Group and cements the newfound partnership even further. Acquired in May 2014, the synergy is an inspiring example of how businesses can work together to grow in a sustainable and successful way. We’ll keep you updated on how the Coffee Grounds project progresses – these are exciting times for everyone!
