Motorcyclist dies in crash on the Marchwood By-pass

A motorcyclist in his 50s has died of his injuries after a crash on the Marchwood By-pass yesterday, Saturday, September 9 shortly after 10am.

The Harley-Davidson bike he was riding was in collision with a Mercedes Sprinter van at the Staplewood Lane junction with the A326. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital but later died of his injuries.

The road was closed for a number of hours following the crash.

We're now appealing for any witnesses who haven't yet spoken to us to contact us. We are also keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage that might show the incident.
