RUBY J EVENTS TAKES A BITE OF THE BIG APPLE
RUBY J EVENTS, London’s leading light in elite party and creative experiential events has opened a New York office to meet emerging client demand, which now boasts a prestigious partnership with NBC Universal on both sides of the Atlantic.
Ruby J Events has launched a New York office in the city’s Lower East Side, a stone’s throw from Soho and other emerging creative business hubs. The office is already serving an active local client base with inaugural upcoming events at landmark venues such as Manhattan’s iconic Rockefeller Centre next month.
Ruby J Events, founded by Event Directors, and business partners, Joanna Greenfield (32) and Lucie Robins (35), has carved an enviable niche in the London event market since its inception six years ago. Constantly looking for their next big challenge and determined to not to stand still, Greenfield and Robin’s versatile skill set and strategic approach to the market has struck the perfect balance between traditional high-end private parties, weddings, bar mitzvah, and the large scale corporate events scene.
The business launched in London in 2009 to meet a gap in the market for high-end events; Greenfield and Robins took an initial risk to start-up during the height of the UK recession. With a carefully planned business model, the duo worked hard to defy the economic climate, making a healthy profit in their first year of trading and with sustained growth year on year. Gaining an enviable reputation with leading London venues and Five Star hotels such as The Corinthia, The Savoy and The Dorchester, Ruby J Events is now acknowledged as a preferred supplier.
In 2011, the business landed a lucrative contract with NBC Universal and ongoing work has seen the Ruby J team undertake VIP events for the London 2012 Olympics, staging events in Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics, a series of Premier League games in London and most recently at The Super Bowl, Arizona, USA.
Joanna Greenfield, Ruby J Events, Co-Founder, comments: “We’ve seen the London event scene explode over the last 18 months in a response to market uplift. In the corporate arena, this enabled us to extend our reach beyond the London office with more and more direct transatlantic client synergies.”
“London and New York business centres have always been close, but in the entertainment world there is a real appetite right now for British business and entrepreneurial spirit in New York. We have been welcomed with open arms and received some really positive feedback from suppliers and clients already, which is so encouraging.”
“In London and New York our versatile and unique approach to experiential party planning and event management allows us to continue to bridge the gap between the private and corporate party scenes. Our New York events have the London Five Star finish, which we truly believe gives us a robust competitive advantage, clear differentiation and makes us stand out in the crowd. The only difference is our price-point in New York which is consciously targeted ‘mid-range’, to accommodate the demand of the US event market. However, we will not be compromised on quality, attention to detail and the overall finesse which has become synonymous with our very British brand.”
“The official launch of the New York office coincides with International Women’s Day which carries the theme of ‘Making it Happen’. It couldn’t be a better time for Lucie and I to put a stake in the ground and celebrate Ruby J Events’ success to date. Personally, it has been a life-long dream to work and live in New York and I feel extremely privileged that the business opportunity has now made it a reality.”
