Hitachi Group extends its deepest sympathies to all those affected by the Maui Wildfires.

Today, Hitachi Group announced that it is donating $100,000 to support the people and rebuilding of Maui communities.

A donation of $80,000 has been designated to the Japanese Red Cross Society, and an additional donation of $20,000 has been made to the Aloha United Way to their Maui Fire Relief Fund. This fund was created to provide immediate relief to those affected by the fires with food, emergency shelter, and supplies.

“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the devastating fires on Maui. Our more than 200 Hitachi Rail Honolulu employees have loved ones affected by the destruction. We send our deepest condolences to everyone.” – Domenico Fortinguerra, Hitachi Rail Honolulu Project Director

Additionally, Hitachi Group companies will continue donating to assistance programs on disaster relief and climate change, such as the American Red Cross and Conservation International, a U.S. nonprofit environmental organization, through a service by Benevity Inc., in which the company matches donations made by Hitachi employees.

Hitachi Group wishes for the earliest possible recovery of the afflicted areas.
