As GCSE exam results are released around the country today, HM Revenue and Customs is reminding parents that receive Child Benefit and Child Tax Credits to inform them of their child’s educational status ahead of 31 August, otherwise payments will stop.
Around one million people have renewed their tax credits online this year, compared to 750,000 in 2015.
More than 1.5 million people have renewed their tax credits already, with four weeks left until the 31 July deadline.
