Hövding helps to promote safer cycling in a new study by the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute

Unique data can explain bicycle accidents, and Hövding plays a key role. A new study conducted by VTI (the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute) on behalf of Länsförsäkringar's Research Fund has examined the causes of bicycle accidents and, thus, can contribute to preventing the risk of bicycle accidents in the future. Hövding users from all over the country have contributed to the study, and their data from everyday cycling and accident incidents provide insights that could change how we cycle.

The study, carried out in collaboration with researchers from VTI, included data from thousands of Hövding users, as well as interviews with cyclists who have experienced an accident. By analyzing this information, VTI researchers have been able to identify risk factors and patterns that may lead to accidents, as well as behaviors following an accident or incident.

"It is gratifying that the data collected by Hövding is being put to use, not only for cyclists wearing Hövding but also to make cycling safer for all cyclists," says Lars Thorén, Director of R&D and Operations at Hövding.

The study emphasizes the importance of continuing to raise awareness of bicycle safety and reducing the risks of bicycle accidents. Hövding has previously participated in studies like this, including with the University of Copenhagen, and will continue its efforts to support similar initiatives and studies aimed at increasing cyclist safety.

You can find more information about the study at VTI(in Swedish).
