​London To New York Service Begins

Affordable 100% business-class travel to the Big Apple is taking off.

La Compagnie, the boutique all-business-class French airline, is now operating its innovative take on business-class travel from London Luton to New York Newark. After passing through a celebratory water salute at London Luton Airport, the maiden flight departed in the late afternoon of Friday, 24th April, arriving into Newark later that night.

La Compagnie will initially operate three flights per week between London Luton and New York Newark, progressively increasing frequencies up to six flights per week from June 2015.

Commenting at the ribbon cutting ceremony at London Luton prior to boarding the inaugural flight, Frantz Yvelin, Founder & CEO of La Compagnie, said, “This is a very exciting moment for La Compagnie and our passengers. La Compagnie uses exclusively redesigned Boeing 757-200 aircraft customised with a stylish interior and 74 lie-flat seats in a 2x2 configuration throughout a spacious, single aisle cabin. Every passenger will enjoy the use of a personal Samsung Galaxy Pro 12” tablet, which can actually be removed from the seat backs and used wirelessly while on-board our planes. All tablets come fully uploaded with an assortment of e-books, magazines, music and of course the latest movies. La Compagnie passengers are assured the utmost comfort throughout the flight with in-flight amenity kits including cosmetic products from natural French skincare brand Caudalie, as well as delicious in-flight meals with seasonal menus created by acclaimed French chef Christophe Langrée, former chef of Hotel de Matignon.

La Compagnie is the brainchild of two recognised leaders in the field of air transportation – Frantz Yvelin and Peter Luethi – who both believe that business-class travel and personalised service can be offered at much more respectable fares than currently available. In creating La Compagnie, the entire team in France, the US and the UK have indeed succeeded in establishing an airline that is meeting the demands of today’s discerning travellers. Since July 2014, La Compagnie has already operated more than 350 flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to New York, carrying over 15,000 passengers.
