The Lockdown Festival for Business

The “Lockdown Business Festival” 25th - 29th May, 2020 is the latest brainchild of curator and networker extraordinaire, Andrew Ellis, the founder of Like Minds.

The May Festival follows the sellout success of the inaugural Lockdown Business Festival in April 2020 which had over 600 delegates participate from the UK, Egypt, Alaska, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Chile, Spain, Philippines, Italy, Sadi Arabia, Qatar, the US, Ireland.

Like Minds has organised an amazing line up of 30 experts. Some are based internationally including New York, Long Island and Boston. Other speakers are from Singapore and even a successful Japanese Entrepreneur trapped in lockdown in Mumbai.

Like Minds has operated for 10 years in the UK featuring speakers from GQ Editor Dylan Jones, Editor GQ Magazine, Bruce Daisley, Ex-Twitter CEO EMEA and Jeremy Waite, Chief Strategy Officer, IBM who have spoken to its Mayfair audience at exclusive private members club 12 Hay Hill and Soho’s The Court.

Ellis' annual Like Minds Ideas Festival last held in October 2019 at Exeter Castle, Devon saw over 350 high flying entrepreneurs and business leaders from Twitter, Amazon, IBM, Google, Virgin Atlantic and LinkedIn delivering keynotes and Masterclass sessions.

The online Like Minds "Lockdown Business festival" will run from 8am Monday 25th May 2020 and wrap up at 6pm on 29th May 2020.

"The online Lockdown Festival is to help business pivot towards a more sustainable future where businesses can thrive online in a way they haven’t addressed before," says Ellis.

"Masterclass Sessions are being led by some of the leading global practitioners in digital transformation, change management, business funding, and mental health to help SMEs and business owners cope with the impact that the lockdown has had on our businesses," he says.

"The beauty is you can take part in it all from the comfort of your own home, where ever you are in the world".

According to Ellis: "If you need help to bring your business fully online, pivot from your current strategy or just be made aware of the tools, strategies, and methodologies that you should look to implement during the current situation we’re all facing, this week-long series of hourly events are for you".

Participants can view each session alongside a virtual table of ten attendees, all running their own individual businesses including the Masterclass host.

The sessions run every hour from 9am to 6pm, every day for a week so that everyone can juggle childcare and other family duties around the individual sessions.

"The Lockdown Business Festival" will help SME owners manage their businesses through the coronavirus hell ride towards a more positive and brighter future".

About Andrew Ellis, Founder of Like Minds:

Andrew Ellis is a creative director, serial entrepreneur, and experienced business development executive. After a BA Hons degree in Graphic Design at The University of the Arts in London, he started my career as a designer and photographer at the seminal creative partnership Hipgnosis.

In 1982 he designed the world-famous “Choose Life" range of slogan T-Shirts for Katharine Hamnett and co-authored the book ‘Album Cover Album Two’ with Roger Dean & Storm Thorgerson and collaborated on the second Hipgnosis book ‘The Goodbye Look’.

In 1982 I founded Icon, an international creative agency based in London & LA specialising in design for the music industry. I sold the business in 1989 to a UK PLC and re-branded the company as Sonicon now a division of AGI Media Europe. My studios' creative work has been published on over 350M albums and singles for artists such as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Robert Plant, Sir Paul McCartney, Radiohead, and Duran Duran amongst many others.

Ellis founded Eyetoeye in 1994 as one of the world's first new media agencies, advising a broad range of business on digital strategy, content creation, website development, branding, and design. Eyetoeye designed and built some of the first websites in the UK. We also advised many start-ups in the Internet boom years, such as First Tuesday and MoneyWorld, which sold to Interactive Investor.

In late 2009 he founded the Like Minds Ideas Festival, a global thought leadership platform, and has held events in London, Exeter, Helsinki, and New York.

Like Minds unites innovators, thinkers and doers together through its series of thought leadership events and co-working spaces.

We were founded in August 2009 amidst the boom of Social Media, where communication was drastically changing, and knowledge was overflowing – creating both the opportunity and the necessity for us to act and turn our ideas into reality. Our mission is to create a platform where participants can join fellow like minds in order to inspire one another and make those ideas happen, all on a level that is accessible both financially and structurally.

“Like Minds is an intellectual playground where thinkers, strategists, agents provocateurs, innovators, challengers and mavericks can open up, share ideas and be inspired in a warm, welcoming and world-wide environment. If you haven’t been, go. You’ll see the future there; most likely, yours. - Robert Bean, The Robert Bean Branding Company
