Final Countdown for London Sport Awards Nominations

The countdown is on to the nominations deadline for this year's London Sport Awards supported by the City of London Corporation, and there are now less than 48 hours remaining to ensure your work in recognised in the capital's biggest celebration of grassroots physical activity and sport.

If you've not yet got your nomination in for one of our ten Award categories this year, you've still got a chance to find yourself on-stage at the historic Guildhall on the evening of 6 March as London's grassroots sporting community comes together to celebrate the work that changes Londoners lives in every corner of the city.

Pick Your Category

With ten categories available for this year's Awards, there are options available for projects, individuals, clubs, community groups and businesses that are contributing to London's rich tapestry of physical activity and sport projects.

Working with young Londoners? The Children and Young People Award and the Inspirational Young Person of the Year are designed specifically to recognise projects supporting young people in London, and young Londoners themselves for achievements in all parts of physical activity and sport.

Supported by volunteers or amazing colleagues? Volunteer of the Year celebrates the impact and dedication of volunteers working on a whole range of projects across London, while the Enhancing the Workforce Award is looking to recognise projects and groups who are getting more people and a more diverse range of people involved in physical activity.

Doing something new and creative? This year, the Technology and Innovation Award will look at both brand new tech that's getting people moving in London, and groups that are taking a new approach to physical activity in London. We're also interested in the role of businesses supporting physical activity in all its forms across London, with the Business Contribution Award. And, if you're involved in London's incredible Elite Sport community, we've also got the Impact of Elite Sport which celebrates the role of ambassadors, major events and London's professional clubs and athletes in inspiring physical activity levels for all Londoners.

Been funded by the Mayor of London's Sport Unites Programme? This year, for the first time, we've got an Award category specifically designed to recognise the impact of the work being delivered by groups funded through the Mayor's landmark Sport Unites programme. The Sport Unites Award is only open to projects funded by the Mayor of London, and looks at the impact of projects supporting social integration and Londoners' wider wellbeing.

Changing Londoners' lives? Grassroots sport and physical activity truly changes lives for Londoners. If you're working on a project that has helped Londoners with their mental or their physical health, the Health and Wellbeing Award is for you. Meanwhile, the Community Impact Award is the category designed to celebrate the incredible breadth of impact that physical activity and sport have.

And, if you're not sure which category to nominate in - why not try a few? There's nothing at all to stop you submitting your nomination in multple categories.

Get Some Stats

The best nominations tend to have some data, some stats or some information that helps to bring them to life. It doesn't need much, but if you've got some additional information that can help our Judging Panel to understand the impact of your work, it'll do wonders in helping your nomination stand out.

Tell Us About Yourself

All nominations for the London Sport Awards are judged and assessed by an independent Judging Panel, who make the ultimate decisions about who makes the shortlists and, yes, who are the big winners on the night. London Sport might know loads about your project, but don't assume the judges do; remember to tell us about all the things that make you, your project, or your nominee so special.

Don't Miss The Deadline

The deadline for nominations is 23.59 on Wednesday 8 January. Submitting a nomination will only take about 20 minutes of your time, but once the deadline's passed, so has your opportunity to get it in.
