London Sport and the Mayor of London’s Sport Team to launch 'Talking Covid-19 and Sport' series

In response to the covid-19 crisis, London Sport and the Mayor of London’s Sport Team will next week launch a new series of online seminars aimed at providing practical solutions to the challenges faced by the community physical activity and sport sector.

Talking Covid-19 and Sport will explore topics ranging from navigating government financial assistance and civil society funding to the role of leadership in times of crisis, bringing cross-industry expertise to help provide practical guidance and inspiration to grassroot sport bodies.

The first Talking Covid-19 and Sport webinar will be held on Wednesday 15 April and will explore Finance and Funding for Grassroots Sport, with representatives of London Sport and the Mayor’s Office being joined by renowned financial journalist and qualified football coach and referee, Georgie Frost (pictured below).

An experienced financial journalist and award-winning TV and radio broadcaster, Georgie Frost was named Santander Personal Finance Journalist of the Year and has hosted the “This Is Money” podcast for five years.

Georgie started her career as a sports journalist at the Guardian Media Group. She is passionate about encouraging more girls into sport and holds an FA referee qualification and Level One FA coaching.

Georgie will speak alongside Kerri Atherton, Project Manager in the Mayor of London’s Sport Team, and Chris Scott, London Sport’s Head of Corporate Communications.
