Press release -

Sport Tech Hub by London Sport announce new partnership with Decathlon

A new partnership will see the world’s largest sports retailer, Decathlon, join Sport Tech Hub and London Sport’s vision of making London the most physically active city in the world.

Sport Tech Hub was established by London Sport with the purpose of bringing the power of tech innovation closer to efforts to increase physical activity levels in London and beyond.

It supports founders and innovators to launch, grow, and scale sports technology ventures that play a major role in solving the world’s physical inactivity crisis.

Through the partnership, Sport Tech Hub ventures will have access to sector experts within the Decathlon network through mentoring, workshops, and events.

Sport Tech Hub will bring Decathlon closer to innovative sports tech solutions to understand how together, we can increase physical activity levels in the capital and beyond.

Ventures will have the opportunity to access support from Decathlon both during their time on the Innovation Programme and within the wider Sport Tech Hub community.

As well as this, Decathlon leaders will be involved in helping Sport Tech Hub support the physical activity and sport sector, to help less active Londoners enjoy the benefits of taking part and leading happier and healthier lives.

Tanya Rabin, Director of Commercial, Marketing and Communications at London Sport, said:

"We are delighted to be partnering with Decathlon and using our collective efforts to continue to accelerate the use of technology to help more people become active.

"Alongside Decathlon we ultimately want to see technology as an enabler to helping less active Londoners to be more active and ensuring we can continue to support innovators to launch, grow and scale tech products which eradicate barriers to participation and increase accessibility.

"Covid-19 increased adoption of digital products as a means to be active, but it also exacerbated digital inequalities, the value of this partnership is centred on making sure more people in London and beyond can make the most of products accelerated by Sport Tech Hub.”

Delphine Mazillier, CSR Leader, Decathlon, commented:

"We know that regularly staying active does wonders for our physical and mental wellbeing. We also know that there are too many barriers currently preventing a large proportion of the UK public from doing so.

"That's why we're absolutely delighted to be partnering with London Sport's Sport Tech Hub to encourage more people in London, and beyond, to reap the benefits of sport through innovation, tech and community.

"At Decathlon, it's our mission to make sport accessible to the many, so we look forward to working closely with London Sport who clearly share the same goal."
