Press release -
Blooming kids get creative
Younger residents from across the borough have been showcasing their flair for all things creative as part of this year’s Mid and East Antrim in Bloom Community Competitions.
Organised by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, the ‘In Bloom’ campaign encourages those living and working in the borough to think more about the local environment and the positive effects it can have on people and wildlife.
As part of this a series of popular competitions are organised and attract a large number of entries with all things environment, gardening and horticulture celebrated.
This time around it was the turn of young people aged 16 and under to get involved as they submitted a painting, poem or other artistic piece promoting the theme of ‘Mid and East Antrim in Bloom.’
As always the standard was impeccably high with 6-year-old Freya Currell from Ballymena being named the overall winner with her painting ‘Butterfly Feast.’
Meanwhile, Dannie Alva Moore and Jack McCrystal, both aged 10-years-old and from Ballymena, were named as Runners-Up.
