Carrickfergus welcomes three new businesses to the town

Three new businesses have recently opened their doors in Carrickfergus adding to the unique fabric of the town and helping boost town centre recovery.

The new businesses which have opened are NACS (Not Another Coffee Shop), New Moon Holistics and Slippy Soap Company.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr William McCaughey, said: “It is a pleasure to visit the three new businesses in Carrickfergus.

“Everyone knows it’s been a tough few years for businesses, particularly for non-essential retail stores that have been unable to open during the lockdowns so this is very positive news for the area.

"We’re delighted to welcome NACS, New Moon Holistics and the Slippy Soap Company and the new jobs they have created in the borough.”

NACS (Not Another Coffee Shop) is located on West Street and it is a cosy café spot for some coffee and a bite to eat. With a wide menu and reasonable prices it offers the perfect spot for some lunch. It is also an official stockist of Frenchie Paint.

New Moon Holistics is a family owned holistic shop, established since 2017, and has recently moved premises to the heart of Carrickfergus. It’s a shop full of goods to meet all of your holistic and esoteric needs. Above the shop is a treatment room for healings.

Slippy Soap Company based in North Street offers handmade bath bombs, soaps, candles and wax melts using cruelty free ingredients. It specialises for those who may have problematic skin.

The new businesses can also avail of the ShopMEA app, which launched to the public in October.

Customers now have access to the best and most exclusive deals, rewards and events right in the palm of your hand, with a large network of local retailers and service providers from our three town centres of Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne, already on board.

The app, funded by the Department for Communities’ COVID-19 Recovery Revitalisation Programme and launched by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Town Centre Recovery Group, forms part of the joint strategy for supporting local businesses to grow and sustain as they navigate the ongoing challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

ShopMEA can now be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store, helping you to reignite your love affair with all that’s local.
