Channel the #SpiritofMEA from home this ‘12 Days of Christmas’

Christmas will be different this year, and while we haven’t been able to enjoy the traditional in-person events and entertainment that Mid and East Antrim Borough Council (MEABC) is famous for, there are still ways you can enjoy the #SpiritofMEA, with our fantastic programme of Virtual Activities running right up to Christmas Eve.

You may already have seen – and tried your hand at – our 12 Days of Christmas exercises on our social channels, as our wonderful Sports Development Team help you focus on your health and wellbeing despite being at home more often this year.

The Parks Teams within MEABC have also been busy little elves putting together the 12 Walks of Christmas, to run across our social channels throughout coming days, featuring a hot to trot list of fabulously festive forest trails, coastlines and parks you can enjoy across the borough this winter.

Walking is not only free, but a great way to explore the fresh air. It’s also a great way to socialise safely in line with current Covid-19 restrictions.

And, as we approach the biggest day of the festive season, we have lined up some fantastic local musicians and artists, from watercolour demos and storytelling, to the best Christmas tunes from a host of local names, and a special message from Santa and Mrs Claus in time for Christmas Eve.

You won’t want to miss the fabulous Jenny Bristow as she helps us cook up a storm, while for the history buffs among us, Carrickfergus Museum will also be showcased virtually with an interesting collection of local content to enjoy.
