Mayor welcomes announcement of 50 new jobs for Carrickfergus

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has welcomed the news that 50 jobs will be created with the opening of the new Marks and Spencer in Carrickfergus.

The retail chain, which already has 20 stores in Northern Ireland, will open their new store on July 31 at Shore Commercial Park on the Belfast Road.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Maureen Morrow, said: “I very much welcome the opening of Marks and Spencer in Carrickfergus and with it the creation of new jobs.

“Growing the economy is one of Council’s key priorities so I am delighted to see this plan coming to fruition.

“This new store will make a significant contribution to our Borough and will attract more people to the area.”
