Press release -

‘Yule’ not want to miss Christmas at The Gobbins!

It may be one of the most windswept locations in Mid and East Antrim, but that doesn’t mean the magic of Christmas has been forgotten at The Gobbins on Islandmagee!

With the cliff walk wonder’s first ever Winter Tours now well underway, there are still plenty of ways during the festive season to take in the stunning beauty of the award-winning visitor spot for those who haven’t plucked up the courage to undertake the invigorating two-mile trek.

Take shelter from the bracing winds and falling temperatures on Wednesday 20 November when The Gobbins Visitors Centre hosts a one-off Christmas Shopping Night from 6pm, with festive discounts available across a number of the locally crafted ranges of gift ideas.

This is the ideal opportunity to make a dent in your Christmas shopping lists while browsing some of the most unique collections from local craftspeople, meet the makers behind the bespoke products and enjoy some seasonal refreshments and music, so what’s not to love? Or for those loved ones who are eternally difficult to buy for, why not pick up a Gobbins Gift Card and let them choose something special at a time that suits them.

There’s no shortage of family fun this Christmas at The Gobbins, either, as the Café will be serving up a hearty Breakfast with Santa on Saturday 14 and Saturday 21 December from 10am. Booking is essential, with prices of £10 per child and £8 per adult.

Have a rummage in the wardrobe for the weeks commencing 16 and 23 December, when Christmas jumpers will be all the rage and there’ll be prizes for those who enter into the festive spirit, with our expert guides ready to bestow the honour of ‘Best Overall Jumper’ on each of their tours and the wearing of Santa bobbles over the mandatory hard hats greatly encouraged!

As the season begins to wind down for another year, visitors to The Gobbins can look forward to warming up with a complimentary glass of Christmas Punch (non-alcoholic) on their return from the path from Thursday 27 December until Sunday 5 January, with the annual two-month maintenance programme getting underway from 6 January at this must-see attraction right on your doorstep.
