Appeal for information after shots fired at house in Toxteth

Detectives are appealing for information after shots were fired at a house in Toxteth in the early hours of this morning, 30 January.

Shortly after 2.10am, officers were called to Selborne Close to reports of shots being fired at a house, causing damage but no injuries. An investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances.

House to house, forensic and CCTV enquiries are ongoing and community policing officers will be in the area today to speak to local residents and offer reassurance.

Detective Chief Inspector Cheryl Rhodes said: "We initially believe that this was a targeted attack, and one which thankfully resulted in nobody being hurt. To fire a weapon towards any property is extremely reckless so I would ask anyone who saw or heard anything to please come forward as soon as possible.

“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously around 2am, or see any unfamiliar vehicles in the area? Your information, home CCTV or dashcam footage could be vital.

"Together, we can continue to act on all information to prevent the fear and harm that guns cause in our communities, and by removing those responsible and their weapons from the streets. If you don't want to speak to police directly, contact Crimestoppers, which is anonymous and completely independent of police."

Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC, call 101 with reference 19100029758, or you can contact @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111.
