Appeal for information following robbery at shop in Wirral

We are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in Wirral.

At around 6.40pm on Sunday 6th January a man walked into the Home Brew Bottle Shop on Christchurch Road, Oxton. It is believed he was armed with a crowbar.

The man demanded money from the shop assistant and ran out of the shop with a quantity of cash. Nobody was injured during the incident.

The man was described as white, in his early to mid-20s and around 6ft tall. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood up to conceal his face and possibly a dark coloured hat. He was carrying an Asda plastic carrier bag.

Detective Inspector Phil Atkinson said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Christchurch Road, Oxton, at around 6.30pm last night, who saw anyone fitting the description of the man, or anyone who has any information about the incident to contact us."
